A deodorant rolled up in scotch tape with several mortars. A homemade explosive device was discovered this Saturday, around 5.30 p.m., by a passer-by near the Place Adrien Zeller, in Strasbourg, where the demonstration was dispersed “Angry citizens“. Reported to the police, the explosive device is being analyzed to identify the people who made it.
A flammable device linked to the event?
By lighting the wicks of the mortars, they explode and their power is increased tenfold by the flammable gas contained in the deodorant. An explosion that can cause a lot of damage over a short range. For reasons still unknown, the explosive device was not triggered.
On the other hand, its making could be linked to the demonstration “Angry citizens“, whose procession was just ending in place Adrien Zeller. Several accessories, such as gloves and ski goggles found near the explosive device, suggest that the authors were present in the gathering.
Furthermore, its making would respond to the calls for violence and weapons disseminated on social networks by one of the organizers of the event. The latter had also been arrested on Friday.
In parallel, four men, including two minors aged 17, were arrested on Saturday, between 3.45 p.m. and 4 p.m. by the police. Three of them for throwing stones at the police and a fourth for an irregular situation on the national territory. Nothing yet confirms that they are linked to the making of the explosive device. But they are questioned on the issue during their custody.
As a reminder, nearly 300 people marched during this “Angry Citizens” demonstration to demand more social justice.
