A lot of money was invested in the restaurant, but everything is now in ashes

One of the hit restaurants on the Southern Black Sea coast – Cattedrale Del Mar was completely destroyed after a big fire over the weekend, a Flagman.bg reporter confirmed on the spot.

The establishment, which was solemnly opened in 2019 and attracted the capital’s elite with its great cuisine and cocktails, caught fire after an unacceptable blunder by the security guard – a 62-year-old man who left his solid fuel stove unattended and it caught fire uncontrollably , which covered the entire structure.

To top it off, when the fire department arrived, they were unable to enter through the central entrance, which was locked, and had to walk over a kilometer through the dunes of the Garden campsite to reach the burning site. As a result of the fire, the establishment was completely destroyed.

According to Flagman.bg, the Cattedrale Del Mar restaurant is run by the family of Burgas businessman Stamat Kralev – former owner of the “Selena” hotel in Sozopol and the “Ocean” restaurant in Burgas. They had a contract with the concessionaire for at least 2 more seasons, our business sources confided.

However, in the current situation, it is not clear whether they will restore the object. Hundreds of thousands were invested in its construction 4 years ago. All the equipment was in the restaurant and very little was taken out. It is not clear whether the object has insurance, but certainly the arson was not intentional, the Ministry of the Interior states.
