A highly motivated candidate for Mayor of Sukabumi campaigns at a Mosque and hands over an envelope, Bawaslu investigates after the video goes viral on social media

METROPOLITAN.ID – The Sukabumi City Regional Election is currently under spotlight because viral a video of one of the candidate pairs (paslon) making campaign in the mosque and spread it an envelope there is money.

In a video that went viral on social media, one of the couples said candidate for mayor of Sukabumi City and the deputy mayor of Sukabumi City campaigned for voting at the mosque and gave envelopes full of money.

Bawaslu Sukabumi City says they received a report about this matter.

Along with integrated law enforcement (Gakkumdu), his party is currently investigating allegations of violations in the 2024 regional elections.

The information gathered says that the viral video was uploaded by candidate number 03, Muhamad Muraz-Andri Setiawan Hamami (Muraz Andri), at Al Jihad Mosque, Nanggeleng Town, Citamiang District, Sukabumi City, on Friday in went 27 September 2024.

In the short video, a man with a black hat can be seen inviting the congregation to vote for the third candidate for Mayor and Deputy Mayor.

After the event, the video also shows them distributing envelopes containing money and stickers for candidate number three, Muraz Andri.

“We from Sukabumi City Bawaslu have received a report regarding allegations of criminal violations in the election that took place on September 27,” said Sukabumi City Bawaslu Violation Treatment and Resolution Department Coordinator Firman Alamsyah, quoted by merdeka.com, on Wednesday. 3 October 2024.

“We have also investigated the formal and material circumstances of the alleged violation,” he said.
