A high-risk fire broke out in Suntaži – in the Regions

Today, a high-risk fire broke out in the sawmill building complex of SIA “Upeslīči” in Suntaži parish, Ogre region.

As LETA was informed by the State Fire and Rescue Service (SFRS), at 13.36 an invitation was received to Suntaži Parish, where according to the initial information the timber is burning. Upon arrival at the scene, it was found that the sawmill building complex was burning.

SIA “Upeslīči” confirmed to the agency LETA that the fire broke out in their territory, but did not provide further comments yet.

At 16.24, the spread of the fire was limited, SFRS informed.

It turned out that the sawmill building complex with a total area of ​​800 square meters, chips in the amount of 150 cubic meters, wood chips in the amount of 300 cubic meters, as well as a pile of pellets and timber in the area of ​​300 square meters are burning.

There are currently 32 fire and rescue workers at the scene, using seven tank trucks, a water tanker and a truck ladder.
