A high probability of rain is mentioned in the eastern part of Cuba

The meteorologist Miriam Teresita Llanes reported last night on Cuban television about the current weather and forecasts for the weekend in the country.

According to Llanes, Cuba is under the influence of high migration pressures of continental origin, which generate a stream of northeast winds that carry clouds to the northern coastal areas in a large part of the islands.

This high pressure system joins a frontal trough and a tropical wave that is present over the territory ofCuban, round.

The frontal trough, which extends to the direction of the winds, will mainly affect the eastern sector, creating unstable conditions that will cause rains and showers in that area.

Llanes explained that although the rain gradually subsided last Saturday, for this Sunday, the pool is expected to remain almost stationary, which will again increase the probability of rain in the eastern end of the island, an area saturated.

A tropical wave moves west in the Caribbean

In addition to the trough, an active tropical wave is moving west in the Caribbean, and its effects will also affect this Sunday’s forecast, with mostly cloudy skies across Cuba. The specialist indicated that the winds from the north-east will maintain partly cloudy skies throughout the country, although cloudy weather may occur from time to time in areas of the northern coast, where isolated showers are possible , especially in the east.

In terms of temperature, the minimum temperature will be between 20 and 23 degrees Celsius, with higher values in coastal areas. During the afternoon, highs between 29 and 33 degrees Celsius are expected, with the highest values in the Granma area. The winds will continue to blow from the north-east at speeds between 10 and 25 km/h, and higher storms are expected in areas of the northern coast, reaching up to 30 km/h.

For the next few days, the forecast is for rain and showers to continue, accompanied by thunderstorms, in the eastern part of Cuba, while the rest of the land will receive precipitation. mainly in coastal areas due to the influence of north-easterly winds. .
