The search for the Mi-2 helicopter, which made a hard landing in Udmurtia, has not yet worked, told reporters the Prime Minister of the Republic Yaroslav Semyonov, quoted by TASS.
“At the moment the search for the helicopter and crew did not yield results. A search headquarters and a checkpoint are located in the area of the accident site. (…) A total of 107 people are involved, 36 units of equipment, 7 snowmobiles “, specified Yaroslav Semyonov.
He noted that the rescue operation involved a ground team of the Ministry of Emergency Situations (EMERCOM) of Russia, using off-road vehicles.
From the air, the helicopter searches MI-8 with the parachute group of the Federal Agency for Air Transport and Unmanned Aerial Systems of the Ministry of Emergency Situations.
Parts of the Udmurt Search and Rescue Service, the Interior Ministry’s fire service, the Russian Guard, the regional Ministry of Natural Resources and the Ministry of Health, local authorities and volunteers are also involved in the operation.
Investigators are clarifying the circumstances surrounding the incident. According to preliminary information, around 14:00 Moscow time on December 27, the Mi-2 helicopter made a firm landing near Izhevsk.
This is happening during an aerial inspection operation of an oil pipeline in the region. Shortly before the helicopter connection disappeared, the pilot reported an emergency on board.
