A spokesman for the Ministry of Health, Khaled Mujahid, said that the opening of the Alexandria Film Festival was canceled due to the weather conditions in Alexandria Governorate, adding that the Prime Minister imposed fines last week for not wearing a muzzle to oblige the public to take precautionary measures.

He continued, during a press conference at Alexandria Festival’s activities: “The state is responsible and secures any festival, gatherings, or conferences with a large number of audiences. Any cases of corona occurring during the festival are an individual responsibility and not the responsibility of the festival or the organizers.”

He concluded his speech by saying, “Egypt has succeeded in securing festivals or conferences in the recent period, and we have proven that Egypt has met the challenge,” adding that the state is much better than countries abroad, with the citizens’ keenness to take all preventive measures.
