The Mayor of Clères, Nathalie Thierry proceeded to the iinauguration of the multi-professional health center Saturday March 6, 2021. The structure has taken place in the old SNCF station which has been rehabilitated and has benefited from an extension.
Three objectives
The multi-professional health center of Clères has the ambition to meet three objectives: to provide a supply of local and quality care, to safeguard the heritage since the structure is installed in the old passenger building of the station and finally , strengthen the attractiveness of the municipality. Three objectives that the mayor Nathalie Thierry reminded the personalities present: the president of the Normandy Region Hervé Morin, the senator Pascal Martin who represented the president of the Department of Seine-Maritime Bertrand Bellanger and the deputy of constituency Xavier Batut. The president of Inter Caux Vexin Eric Herbet also participated in this milestone event with other elected representatives of the territory.
Cost of the operation: 1,355,000 euros
The cost of renovating and extending the old station, bought in 2014 from SNCF, amounts to € 1,355,000. To complete the budget which mobilized various communities and funders (the Regional Health Agency, the State, the Normandy Region, the Normandy Public Land Establishment and the Seine-Maritime Department), the municipality of Clères contracted a loan of 350,000 euros. “This operation is the typical example of successful cooperation between several levels of communities”, noted Nathalie Thierry who insisted on the essential contribution made by the wasteland fund, “resulting from the partnership between the Region and the EPFN and which resulted in 80% aid for closed and covered works and for preliminary studies. Every day, I rent out this wasteland, which plays a decisive role in our communities as well as in industrial and economic fields ”.
–An “excellent job” from the architect
Four doctors, an orthoptist, a speech therapist, a psychologist, a psychomotor therapist and a nurses’ office will now be able to accommodate their patients in a functional, modern site thanks to premises which present “a lot of class”, judged Pascal Martin, who indicated that between “before and after the works, it has nothing to do with it. It’s an excellent job from the architect ”. The latter, Bruno Saas, is a local professional since he is located in a neighboring village of only a few kilometers, Saint-Georges-sur-Fontaine.
Responding to the problem of medical demography
The senator and departmental councilor of Bois-Guillaume also noted that this health center responds to “a strong expectation of the population to have an accessible and quality health offer, without traveling tens of kilometers. This problem of medical demography also affects the urban environment: the department of Eure in Normandy is very affected by this phenomenon, ”he added, stressing how much the Clères project thus provides a“ relevant and relevant response. intelligent ”to the needs of the population.

Hervé Morin bounced back on this subject of medical demography to reiterate once again his conviction, namely that “health policy must be entrusted to communities and in particular to the Regions”, to be applied in the territories. “This is what we defend in the Region. We have around a hundred health centers in Normandy and around fifty are currently in the pipeline, at the initiative of local communities. We have been able to respond to the demand of health professionals, ”insisted Hervé Morin, convinced that it is essential to“ move away from national patterns ”, in particular to ensure that the medical specialties that the population needs and which make sorely lacking in Normandy.
There is a lack of 800 dentists in Normandy
Illustrating his point, the President of the Region cited the dental problem as an example: “There is a lack of 800 dentists in Normandy for our Region to be in the average”, he said, announcing that a partnership has been set up. place between the ARS, the faculties and the Region to increase the number of dental chairs, so that dentists can settle in Normandy.
The president of the Normandy Region also praised the work of the architect but also the choice of the site to be rehabilitated to install this offer of care.
