Arsenal – Luton 0:2
After the canceled draw against Manchester City, Arsenal returned to the winning track this evening, after beating Luton 0:2 at the Emirates Stadium. Martin Odegaard put Arsenal 1-0 up on Luton with a flat and accurate kick in the 24th minute, Emile Smith Rowe tried to find Nelson who was facing an empty goal, but Deiki Higashioka in the Luton goal got ahead of him and scored an own goal that put the Gunners 0 up :2 in the 44th minute.

This result was also maintained in the second half, at the end, the Gunners achieved their ninth victory from the last ten league games, and they rise to the top of the table, at least temporarily, until Liverpool meet Sheffield United tomorrow.
On the other hand, Luton remains in 18th place, three points below Nottingham Forest and the red line, counting 11 league games in a row without a win.
Brentford – Brighton 0:0
In a game without many situations, the Bees and Seagulls were separated by a draw. Brighton were close to a penalty in the 44th minute after Hoare called the referee to check on the screen whether there was a foul in the box on Lewis Dunk, but the referee decided not.
Brentford records an eighth game in a row without a win and remains in 18th place, 6 points above the red line. On the other hand, Brighton only has a single win in their last five games, but thanks to a point they move up to 9th place, a point above Wolves.

Manchester City – Aston Villa 1:4
After two consecutive draws against Liverpool and Arsenal, and less than a week until the first match against Real Madrid in the quarterfinals of the Champions League, the Citizens are back to winning. Phil Foden scored a spectacular and colorful hat-trick, Rhodri added a goal and an assist, and City celebrated with a big 4:1 over Villa. It’s strange to say this about Pep Guardiola’s empire, but this is City’s first victory this season against one of the top 5 teams in the English league.
Doku found Rodri with a great header, the Spaniard giving Manchester City an early lead in the 11th minute. Johan Duran managed to temporarily equalize when he kicked a great corner and finished off a spectacular burst (20), but it was Phil Foden’s night. The English winger scored with a precise free-kick on the brink of the break, benefited from a assist from Rhodri in the 69th minute, and completed a major hat-trick in the 69th minute after grabbing the ball and sliding it into the posts. Foden reaches 14 league goals and breaks his personal record for goals in a season already in the 31st round. Rhodri was great as well and as mentioned recorded a goal and an assist.
City clings to Liverpool in second place (and will meet Sheffield United tomorrow), and is only one point away from Arsenal, who have risen, at least temporarily, to the top.
Villa, for its part, remains in fourth place, with 59 points, two above Tottenham in the fight for the ticket to the Champions League.
