Kopic has already missed five September games this season due to a thigh muscle injury. He returned to the game in early October, but only stayed fit for less than four games. In Wednesday’s home game against Bayern, which Plzeň eventually lost 2: 4, Kopic only lasted 24 minutes on the pitch and then had to retire.
“He has a tear in his muscles and will most likely not be able to participate in matches again in the autumn,” Pilsen manager Michal Bílek told a press conference after a 3-0 win in Jablonec in the 12th round of the first league.
The leader of the standings and reigning champion of West Bohemia will play another seven competitive matches over the remainder of the fall season. Viktoria will start four times in the league, two in the Champions League and once in the national cup.
