The reigning Liga MX Femenil champions were defeated by a score of 3-0 at WakeMed Soccer Park with goals from Asley Sánchez, Haley Hopkins and Landy Mertz. With this result, Rayadas were the first to be eliminated, having lost all three of their matches.
Uthah Royals vs Xolas
After defeating OL Reign, the Xolas suffered a painful 5-1 defeat against Utah Royals. The first to open the scoring were the Tijuana team with a goal by Aisha Solórzano 3 minutes into the match, but that goal motivated the locals. With a double by Brecken Mozingo and goals by Paige Monaghan, Hannah Betfort and Ally Sentnor, the Xolas were the second team eliminated by Mexican women’s soccer.
KC Current vs Tigres
To the surprise of many, the Amazonas failed to advance to the next round after falling to Kansas by a score of 4-1. The only scorer for Tigres was Thembi Kgatlana thanks to an assist from Jacquie Ovalle “La Maga.” The scorers for the home team were Lo’eauLaBonta, Ellie Wheeler, Debinha and Claire Hutton.

Houston Dash vs Pachuca
Las Tuzas did not have the best performance in the Summer Cup. Of the six teams, they were the only ones that did not win any of their three games. In addition, they were the ones that received the most goals, with a total of 9 against, and they were only able to score 2 goals, both against Tigres. In this game, they received two goals from the team where the national team player Diana Ordóñez plays, who was one of the scorers, along with the Brazilian Andressa Alves. With this result of 2-0, the Pachuca team was in last place in their group.
Gotham FC vs Chivas
Another team that fell, the Rojiblancas joined Tuzas, Xolas, Rayadas and Tigres who failed to advance to the semifinals after losing to Gotham FC, the Chivas team had the difficult mission of scoring 6 goals against the locals, but they were not overcome and with a double from Katie Stegel and a goal from Ella Stevens, the Guadalajara team was eliminated.
Bay FC vs América
This match closed the group stage, where the Eagles faced Scarlett Camberos’ former team.
The first to open the scoring were Gotham at 7 minutes with a goal from Madelin Moreau, but at 29 minutes Camberos would apply the law of the ex and tie the match.
The second half would be played and at 53 minutes Dorian Bailey would score the discount goal to give the locals the victory and thus leave América out of the competition.

As it was a short tournament, only the top teams in each group qualified, so the teams that will play in the semi-finals will be: Utah Royals, KC Current, Gotham FC, and North Carolina Courage.
