California’s first entertainment zone debuted in SF in September for a special Oktoberfest celebration. The party, which included the participation of two SF bars and allowed customers to take their alcoholic beverages “to go” within the area, was a great success and included the assistance of nails 10.000 personas. Now, the next event for the entertainment zone is in the books, and this time it’s for Halloween.

The city just announced that a Halloween party, called Nightmare on Front Street will occupy the leisure area to celebrate the spooky holiday. The party is scheduled for October 31, from 2:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. The party is free and open to the public, and organizers promise music, themed games, horror movies and a classic costume contest. As at Oktoberfest, the three bars on the block will be able to sell alcoholic beverages to go. The bars will have their own spooky themes, with special Halloween cocktails.

The new leisure area aims to increase traffic in downtown San Francisco, which has been affected by complaints of empty offices and low foot traffic, making it difficult for local businesses to survive. For now, the success of the Oktoberfest is promising: participating businesses have registered an increase of 1,500% in your sales during the event.

“San Francisco knows how to have fun, host great events, and attract visitors from across the bay and around the world to enjoy themselves,” Mayor London Breed said in a news release. Mayor London Breed said in a press release..“The Front Street Oktoberfest may have been the first in California and our city, but it certainly won’t be the last. We know what this surge of activity does for our small business community and local economy, and we are seeing lasting benefits…”

Mayor London Breed has also proposed the creation of four new leisure areas in the city to continue enlivening the centre.
