A gypsy is a gypsy, Zdeněk Godla a Nazi. Rhythm has hair. Slovak Invalida is heading to Czech cinemas

The grotesque parade of characters revolves around one handyman, Lac Hunder, who loves his job but finds himself in the wrong place at the wrong time due to his choleric nature. His life begins to be influenced by events and people he would rather not meet. But he met them and he has to make arrangements accordingly.

The main roles are played by Zdeněk Godla and Gregor Hološka.

In addition to Slovak actors – and non-actors, including rappers Rytmus in the role of a Romany moneylender, Majk Spirit and rapper VEC as police officers – the films will also feature Czech ones, including Zdeněk Godla and Klára Melíšková.

The audience is excited

The black comedy directed by Jonáš Karásek has already premiered in Slovak cinemas, and according to their reactions, the audience likes it very much. They mainly appreciate its inaccuracy.

The new black comedy Invalida is not afraid of incorrect humor.

It is also praised by critics there, according to whom it is the best film of recent years. Many call it the best comedy ever made in Slovakia after 1989.

Invalida is Karásek’s third feature film after the successful films Candidate and Amnesty. “An important theme in our film is the quality of interpersonal relationships and family functioning, which each of us sometimes deals with. Even though we’re dealing with some serious topics in the film, we’re doing it, I think, with humor. Sometimes I’m even incorrect and on edge, which could be fun for the audience,” says the director.

A remake of a famous song

Together with Igor Kmeť jr., Rytmus also recorded a Roma version of the popular song of the band Modus for the film Smile from 1977.

The video clip has almost 600,000 views since its launch on YouTube. In the original version, it was sung by Miroslav Žbirka, Marika Gombitová and Janko Lehotský.
