A great tragedy shook the world of football on Wednesday night. Panathinaikos Athens player George Baldock has died aged 31.
The body of teammate Andraž Šporar was found in the pool of his house in Athens. The cause of death is still unknown, the police are investigating this terrible event.
George Baldock was born in England, where he also grew up playing football. Since 2017, he has played for Sheffield United, for whom he has made over 200 appearances, including 89 in the Premier League.
He received Greek citizenship thanks to his grandmother’s origins and managed to play 12 games for the national team. In the summer, he became the reinforcement of Panathinaikos Athens, for which he played in four games.
