After several years of hiatus, the “Robinson Expedition” is back. On a deserted beach in the Caribbean, 18 participants will fight their way to the top through tough competitions. This time with a brand new host.

Published:

In the new season, it is the actor and training profile Silje Torp (46) who will solve the participants through extremely hard exercises.

– To be the expedition leader for the new Robinson is an adventure in itself, and a great honor!

– I am very much looking forward to showing what we have experienced – and survived – together, and hope the viewers will be both inspired and entertained. That is the goal, says Silje Torp in the press release.

From Viking times to desert island

Torp is perhaps best known to most people as Frøya in the three seasons of the TV series “Vikingane” which was first shown on NRK and which is now shown on Netflix. She has previously told VG that “Vikingane” is one of them funniest thing she has done:

– People like to say “that’s the funniest thing I’ve done” after a role, but recording “The Vikings” was actually the funniest thing I’ve done, Torp told VG at the time.

She was already known for her role as sheriff Mette Hansen in season two of “Lilyhammer”.

Torp is also a trained personal trainer and in 2019 she published the book “Strong with elastic”.

The 46-year-old will now lead the “Robinson expedition”. The reality series was a success on TV3 from 1999 to 2013, and then again on TV2 from 2015 to 2016.

It was actor Nils Ole Oftebro who was the host in the first season (1999), while subsequent seasons have been led by Christer Falck, who by the way was the winner of the first season.
