Nevertheless, a few days ago there was a very striking and unusual event in Texas (USA): lightning struck a golf ball that was in the air.
Last week a strong storm broke out in San Antonio, just when several teenagers were throwing balls from a tee on a driving range. Moments after one of the youngsters threw the ball, lightning struck it in mid-flight, when it reached a speed of over 140 km / h.

According to a study published by the National Lightning Safety Council, about 13 people die each year on golf courses, mainly from electric shocks. In the United States, approximately 5% of all deaths caused by lightning strikes occur during the practice of this sport.
