A Goldengas Senigallia Basketball team in splendid form and full of determination beat Attila Junior Basket of Porto Recanati on Sunday afternoon at the Palas in via Capanna with a clear 95 to 63. A victory that was by no means a foregone conclusion, in which coach Petitto’s red and whites fought with triples, good plays and a lot of intensity.
The first quarter began to chase the points and the very physical and tight defense of both teams. Good actions, nothing left to chance and a lot of pressure from Goldengas on their opponents in Porto Recanati and vice versa. Pietro Sablich and Marco Giacomini anticipate the great game they will play, showing the understanding that unites them, while Marco Venga hits a triple at the siren two minutes from the end: the first half ends at 19-20 but everything is still in flux. The Recanati points come above all from the Argentine captain Joaquin Emilio “Pepo” Gamazo and from an infallible Luca Montanari, shirt 32, from Bologna with great skills and balance. The second quarter starts again with a triple from Pallacanestro Senigallia captain Giacomini, excellent shots from Pietro Sablich and then an escalation which exalts the Palas stands again from Giacomini, who scores one triple after another and increases the lead exponentially , proving to be an evening of grace. We go to the break at 41 to 34, with Giacomini scoring 20 points against Montanari’s 11.
The third quarter opens with a well-charged Attila Junior Basket of Porto Recanati, new strategies but also a few fouls that give the advantage to Goldengas who take advantage very well and maintain high precision on free throws. Recanati calls a suspension of play four minutes from the end, while Tommaso Druda and Fabio Giampieri produce a remarkable and very complicit exchange towards the basket, reaching an important lead of 20 points (64-44). The third period ends at 66-51. The quarter opens with a nice triple from Andrés Landoni, who is given the lead by Tommaso Maiolatesi, the protagonist on the field of the last half. For Porto Recanati Latini goes out for 5 fouls, coach Nicola Scalabroni gets a technical job, for the red and whites the combative Marco Venga also goes out, replaced by Giovanni Sablich who enhances the last half with excellent shots and good plays. A few minutes from the end the younger Nicolò Gentili and Sebastiano Valenti enter for Pallacanestro Goldengas Senigallia, while the fast Druda closes with a triple and makes the siren sound at 95 to 63.
Excellent performance for the Goldengas Senigallia Basketball team and for the strategy of coach Gian Marco Petitto who is bringing out the best from a young team, which does not give up and gives hope for the championship. Big applause for captain Marco Giacomini who, with 26 points and incredible consistency on the pitch, always kept the level of play high.
