It hasn’t been an easy road, but Alex Galchenyuk is back in the National Hockey League (NHL) as he agreed to a one-year deal with the Colorado Avalanche on Monday.

According to the TSN channel, the 28-year-old American’s annual salary will be $750,000.
Galchenyuk, released on a trial contract at the end of training camp with the Avalanche after sustaining an injury that ended his hopes of making it to the big club, landed an American League pact with the Colorado Eagles. He has three goals and seven points in seven games with the Avalanche branch.
Drafted third in the 2012 NHL Draft by the Montreal Canadiens, Galchenyuk scored 146 goals and 354 points with the Habs, Arizona Coyotes, Pittsburgh Penguins, Minnesota Wild, Minnesota Ottawa and Toronto Maple Leafs.
