A Gijón nursing home registers 22 positives seven days after completing the vaccination | BE Gijón | Today for Today Gijón

Gijón adds a new outbreak. In this case it occurs in a nursing home, the first in Asturias with the two doses of the vaccine inoculated. It is the Cimadevilla Residence which has 22 affected (17 residents and 5 workers), all of them women with mild symptoms. The only concern is the case of a user who is more serious, although she had previous pathologies. The parish priest of the church of San Pedro, in charge of the management of the equipment, has assured in statements to the SER that it is “a surprise” since they had passed seven days from the application of the second dose.

The director of the residence, Francisco Cachán, has pointed out that the users they had received the second dose on January 19. Most of those affected are in the H144 provisional hospital set up in the Gijón Fairgrounds, although some have been transferred to the Red Cross hospital and Cabueñes. The residence has a capacity for 50 people and currently has 34 elderly users. From the management they also point out that no one had entered the residence lately “for the circumstances and to preserve his health.”

Since the beginning of the pandemic, no case had been registered and now the center it’s found intervened by the Ministry of Health.
