A giant mural for Karim Benzema in Bron

For nearly two months, the painters were busy on their gondolas, on the edge of the Lyon ring road near Bron, in a secret that had hitherto been rather well guarded. Everyone now knows that the artists were creating a gigantic fresco in honor of Karim Benzema, the kid from the neighborhood, even if the information has had the greatest difficulty filtering through in recent weeks. The mayor of the village Jérémie Bréaud had sold the wick a bit, on the sidelines of the presentation of the Golden Ball, but the painters remained very silent, not wanting to reveal their name or their company, contenting themselves with systematically covering every part of the drawing when it was finished.

Adidas, sponsor of the Real Madrid striker, fully financed the work. It is fully visible from Thursday evening, at the edge of a twelve-story building, 35 meters high. We can see the evolution of Benzema, from Bron to Real Madrid, passing through OL, with the message “Grow here. Become a legend” under the famous motto of the German equipment manufacturer, “Impossible is nothing”.

The Groupama Stadium is sold out

This fresco, which “competes” directly with the one financed by Nike for Kylian Mbappé in Bondy, should be inaugurated in the same day in a small committee. The Adidas Board of France and Europe is expected, together with Benzema, some relatives and local children invited for the occasion. The Blues center forward could then go to Groupama Stadium on Friday evening to attend the OL-Nice with his sponsor and present the Golden Ball to the public of his training team. The stadium will be sold out and in any case very lively, as the Bad Gones celebrate their 35th anniversary and have several supporters scheduled.
