The most interesting and rare breeds are displayed at an exhibition held in Sofia, reports BGNES.
The exhibition includes both the familiar Bengals, Siamese and Persians, as well as much rarer breeds and those that entered our country in the last ten years. Among them is undeniably the Maine Coon.
The Maine Coon breed is also called a “dog in cat’s clothing” because of its good nature and loyalty to owners and children.
“The Maine Coon is a nanny for children,” jokes one of the participants in the contest, who owns a large cat kennel in Plovdiv. He arrived in the capital with his pet, who is four years old and weighs an impressive 12 kg.
“It is the largest domestic cat. She participated in many competitions. He is the world champion of several federations – Austrian, German, Czech. Now we will become the world champion of the Bulgarian federation as well”, the owner is convinced.
Another very interesting breed that immediately catches the visitor’s eye – mainly because of its peculiar ears, or rather their lack, is the American Curl breed.
“She is very rare and the only condition is to be looked after properly, she loves quality food. Otherwise, it hardly hurts,” said the participant in the competition, who brought this fabulous creature to Bulgaria. And this breed, like the Maine Coon, is very attached to people.
The American Curl is a relatively new breed – about 30 years old. There are about 10 kennels worldwide and this is one of the reasons why she is quite rare at the moment.
