Huge efforts will have to be made to restore trust in the country’s banking institutions, GERB leader Boyko Borisov said in Nova Zagora, Radio “Focus”-Sliven reported.
“I am convinced that a stable government and the banks that have declared their readiness to participate in their guarantee fund, we will be able to restore confidence in the banking system, and this will first involve changing the governor of the BNB,” said Borisov.
According to him, it is necessary to find a consensus person, a person with experience. “Here I also make a gesture to the reformers. Gavriyski can do great, never mind that he was my competitor for Sofia and I defeated him in the elections. He can do it if he has the support of the parliament. We need such a person with a reputation. There are probably at least three other people who can handle this job, but he is one of the people. As my opponent in the election, I have always valued him, as a person, for the knowledge, skills and qualities he possesses. I’m a dialogic person, but I don’t like someone twisting my arms and setting me conditions in advance, that’s not fair and I’ve never been flexible,” said Boyko Borisov.
