The Saxon Deputy from the far-right party “AfD” Jörg Dornau is accused of collaborating with the regime in Belaruswhere the politician owns an onion plantation. There he enriched himself at the expense of the forced labor of political prisoners.

Dornau claims to have entered into an agreement with the management of the local prison and used the forced labor of prisoners, including political prisoners, Agrarheute reported.
The farm for onion “Zybulka-Bel” in Belarus is from 2020 and the german one MP has been its leader since last year. It is located on 1,500 hectares on the site of a former Soviet collective farm in the Lida region.
Dornau failed to report his activities in Belarus and the onion trade from there to Germany, for which the presidium of the Saxon parliament fined him 20,862 euros. However, this is nothing, as German media claim that Dornau, as the head of the company, reached an agreement with the director of the prison located near the farm in Belarus. The prison should provide him with cheap labor in the form of prisoners, including political prisoners from the Lukashenko regime.
The media published the account of a former prisoner who claimed that he was forced to work on Dornau’s farm, where he sorted onions. He also claimed to have seen Dornau himself at the farm, who knew full well that his company was enriching itself at the expense of the labor of political prisoners. The salary per person is 5 euros per day.
The AfD has not yet officially commented on the Jörg Dornau case. His fellow party members assure him that this is another smear campaign against the party. In Germany, the law prohibits the exploitation of vulnerable or dependent people and the criminal code has sections for this.
