A general meeting under high tension at the MJC de Fontbouillant in Montluçon (Allier)

It’s been heating up at the MJC de Fontbouillant, in Montluçon, since the annual general meeting on Wednesday July 13. Its president, François Laplanche, presented four motions to members, two of which were voted on by members.

More regular occupation of the premises on weekends

The most important concerns the occupation of the premises, adopted:

Our working conditions are complicated. The team is tired. Every day we have to change rooms. The presence of 109, which by convention occupies the Pier on concert evenings, prohibits us from occupying the premises on weekends, Friday and Saturday evenings.

The structure asks to have fixed hours for its activities, especially with the opening at the start of the school year of a video studio intended for its young people. “From January, there will be no concerts every Saturday, we will fix the dates. We need regularity in our actions,” insists François Laplanche.

Alric Berton, cultural assistant in Montluçon, invites the parties to “take the height”:

Business has evolved on both sides. That of 109 has become more important. The MJC has a central social component, especially for 11-14 year olds. But there are no concerts every Saturday either. We must guarantee the safety of the public. And the concerts are not compatible with the opening of the premises of the MJC.

This latter application makes it a new fire safety system. This is provided during the concerts by personnel from 109, opposes Alric Berton.

The new Smac, called “109”, will be officially launched on Saturday January 17 (2015)
