A 31 year old gendarme ended his life with his service weapon, in his official accommodation located at the caserne Ganeval. She had been transferred there at her request after having worked for several years at Sainte-Marie-aux-Mines (Haut-Rhin).
His body was discovered Tuesday morning September 15 by colleagues. Theinvestigation was entrusted to the Strasbourg research brigade. A psychologist of the gendarmerie is mobilized to assist the personnel who would need it: it went to the Sainte-Marie-aux-Mines brigade on Wednesday.
At the end of August, a young 19-year-old gendarme had also committed suicide, in the premises of the territorial brigade of Colmar.
