A garbage truck hit a mother with a 3-year-old child in the capital’s Lyulin-6 residential area.
The signal for the incident was submitted shortly after 11 o’clock, confirmed to Dir.bg by the Ministry of Interior.
After the impact, the woman fell under the truck.
The spokesperson of the Center for Emergency Medical Aid in Sofia Katya Sungarska told Dir.bg that two teams were sent on the spot. The child has a head injury that is not life-threatening but is in shock.
However, the mother is in a very serious condition. One of her legs was crushed and the other was trapped under the truck. This forced the truck to be lifted to free the woman. Her life is in danger.
The victims were taken to Pirogov, but the woman died in the shock room, despite the efforts of doctors.
The driver of the garbage truck, who is in shock, will also be transported to a medical institution.
The area of the incident was blocked by the police. An inspection is being performed.
