It’s no secret: Strasbourg is a city that gives pride of place to rap. And for the past few days, several posters have been hiding in our city with a look that is easily recognizable by lovers of this style of music. Posters that tease the return of the S-Crew, including Nekfeu.
The S-Crew is this Parisian rap collective formed by Nekfeu, 2zer Washington, Framal and Mekra. Launched in 2001, the group has two albums to its credit: His zooreleased in 2013, and Linked Fatesreleased in 2016. He even composed the French credits of the film Creed: The Legacy of Rocky Balboa.
A return of the S-Crew, Nekfeu, or both?
Since the beginning of the week, posters with an intriguing logo have appeared in Strasbourg, starting the craziest rumours. We can indeed see an orange logo, which connoisseurs of French rap will have spotted like that of Seine Zoo Records, a music label created by rapper Nekfeu. Below the logo, another clue: an inscription “SZR 2001”the initials of Seine Zoo Record, with 2001, the date of creation of the S-Crew.
It was enough for the rumors to spread, especially through Konbini’s Instagram account, which even reveals that it all started in Strasbourg. The suspense redoubled when we learned of the existence ofu site internet SZR2001, launched just after. On the site, the orange logo of the posters, with in addition two distinct countdowns. The first is due to end Sunday, May 22 at 10:22 p.m., the second at noon, 2 p.m. later. What to prepare the fans of the group for new announcements, six years after the last album of the collective, and three years later The Wandering StarsNekfeu’s latest album.
