Excellent at the start of the season, the Angers SCO has been in total decline since the departure of some of its CAN executives, and is now starting to look behind it.
Indeed, the men of Gérald Baticle remain on five consecutive defeats in Ligue 1, the latest totally incomprehensible on their lawn against Lens (1-2), after goalkeeper Petkovic offered two goals to the Sang et Or. And while the SCO was in the race for Europe, Angelo Fulgini’s teammates therefore collapsed, and no longer only seven points clear of the relegation zone.
And the calendar will not help the Angevins. Angers will indeed face three competitors in Europe, in the person of Rennes, Lyon and Lille. At the same time, the Angevins will be opposed to the Stade de Reims, direct competitor in the “almost race to maintain”. Finally, before facing OL and LOSC, the SCO will face Brest, a team that is never easy to maneuver.
