The actor is pleased that his creative life has been filled with almost a hundred roles in both theater and cinema. The directors saw in him such valuable naturalness and sincerity.

The actor names the most important works for himself – Jāzeps director Arnolds Liniņš’s production “Jāzeps and his brothers” at the Daile Theater, Arvīds Jānis Streičs ‘film “My Friend is a Serious Man”, as well as Raimonds Pauls’ song “Cielaviņa” performed by Paukštello folklore.

“It simply came to our notice then. I ran out of all the shit you have in the rehearsal, where you have to cultivate emotions that you don’t have, ”says Putukello honestly. Even now, the actor is trying to be on the move.

The actor admits that moments of joy are provided by everything – to be quiet and do what he wants. Paukštello’s eldest son sings in the choir “While” and learns the profession of a programmer. David, the actor’s second son, will be 20. When the actor’s son was little, he came to the actor every night to wish him sweet dreams and say that dictates love him.

“My profession, artists, needs providence. I’m lucky and I’m wondering about myself, “says Paukštello.

“There are about ten performances where you are in line with the director, with yourself and with the material. This is the highest moment.

All the things you have to go through before and the failure, and because of your own fault and the material, you go through it – but it all adds up, and then the miracle comes that you are doing the great work that God is commanding you, ”admits actor.

The “godfather” of the Paukštello Theater was Ēvalds Valters. “Everyone was standing in line with Pāvuls, Harijs Liepiņš, but I already had – I had played a serious person, I already had a real person with a sense of humor,” explains the actor.

“The director shouts, but he says – Janka, you don’t take everything in your head, put it over your head and only take 17 percent inside.”

Asked if the actor is still interested in poetry, Paukštello states: “I was attached to Klāvs Elsbergs, but he was so poetic about him, I don’t sit anymore in my 70s … I’m really enough with Skujenieks, Peter, Ziedon, German.”
