Handball international Julius Kühn experienced a little fright during the half-time break of the European Championship main game against Belarus. The back room player from MT Melsungen was accidentally locked in the locker room, the ARD reported on Thursday.
“I was the last one on the toilet and already suspected something like that. Then I knocked on the door in panic. Fortunately there was a security man in front of me who heard me,” said Kühn.
The 26-year-old was still on the floor in time for the restart. “Team manager Oliver Roggisch apologized to me and promised that this would never happen again,” said Kühn. National coach Christian Prokop admitted: “I can’t say that out loud, but I didn’t miss him at first.”
