French fashion designer Terry Migler has passed away at the age of 73, according to a statement published on the social network “Facebook” on Sunday.
“We must announce with deep mourning the departure of Manfred Terrier Miglere on January 23, 2022,” the statement said.
His death is an unexpected event. Migler was expected to announce a new partnership next week.
Speaking about Migraine’s departure, the designer’s agent, Jean Batiste, told the AFP news agency AFP that the cause of death was natural.
Born in Strasbourg in 1948, Migler was one of the most famous French fashion designers.
He created the brand name Thierry Mugler in the 1970s and had a strong influence on fashion, especially in the 1980s.
Migler was also a director, writer and designer, collaborating with the entertainment company Cirque du Soleil, among others.
Celebrities dressed in Migler’s costumes included Bayonne, Lady Gaga, and David Bowie. Migler also succeeded in perfumery.
