A fraudulent message abusing Albert spreads through WhatsApp and Messenger

A new phishing campaign is targeting Czech users, this time through the communication services WhatsApp and Facebook Messenger. The delivered report informs that Albert stores distribute coupons worth three thousand crowns free of charge during a pandemic. The link leads to a fraudulent page (address albert.superma.cc), where fraudsters try to obtain payment card details from users.

Avast pointed out the campaign. She detects her with HTML:PhishingBank-CTN, HTML:PhishingBank-CTM a HTML: PhishingMail-AAR. More information they are here. Avast also pointed out a few days ago fraudulent e-mails imitating the Czech Post.

The situation around coronavirus in general brings a new fungus for the spread of malware and cyber attacks, inter alia in connection with the expansion of work from home. For example, Check Point said that “in the last six months, Czech companies have faced an average of 484 cyber attacks per week per organization, while the European average is only 349 cyber attacks in the same period.”
