It’s a seven-year story that ended between Wojciech Szczesny and Juventus. The Polish goalkeeper and the Italian club parted ways by mutual consent following a Euro in which he played two games. At 34, the best goalkeeper in Serie A last season is preparing to bounce back at a major European club.
Defense
The defense of the eleven of the unemployed has an average age of 34 years and experience to spare. We find there first of all Joel Matip who played very little for Liverpool last season due to a cruciate ligament injury. Alongside him, Mats Hummels had reached the end of his contract at Dortmund, a club he first joined in 2008. The German is of interest to several teams including Brighton.

Mario Hermosohe is the youngest of the defensive hinge but the one who is worth the most money (25 million euros). At 29, he will bounce back in a big club after a full season at Atletico Madrid. His Spanish compatriot Sergio Ramos is, himself, at the very end of his career after a season at Seville at the age of 38. For the third time in four years, he is looking for a new club.
Milieu
Undisputed holder at the Euro with France, Adrien Rabiot refused to extend his stay at Juventus. At 29, the midfielder does not seem to be in a hurry to find a new club knowing that several big guns are interested in his profile as a sweeper. The situation is different for James Rodriguez who has had a series of adventures (Qatar, Greece, Brazil) and finds himself without a club at the age of 33 after a season in Sao Paulo and a brilliant Copa America in which he was voted best player.

Of the Allifor his part, is still recovering from his operation following a groin injury. Having reached the end of his contract at Everton, the 28-year-old Englishman is currently training with… Everton, who are testing his physical abilities to perhaps revive his career. Other players such as Miralem Pjanic (ex-Sharjah), Rafinha (ex-Al Arabi) and Dennis Praet (ex-Leicester) are currently without a contract.
Attack
It is with regret that he will not be able to continue his adventure in Spain that Memphis Depay left Atlético Madrid this summer. Hampered by injuries, the 30-year-old Dutchman can count on the interest of certain clubs, such as Besiktas or MLS teams, but his XXL salary of around five million euros net per year calms a lot of ardor. Wissam Ben Yeddercaptain of Monaco where he stayed for five years, left his favorite club and could join an exotic destination at 34 years old. Finally, while Eric Choupo-Moting (ex-Bayern Munich) could also have been part of this team, Anthony Martial leaves Manchester United after nine years at the club. Only starting seven times last season, due to injuries, the 28-year-old Frenchman is currently worth ten million euros.
