Former pop star Gary Glitter has been recalled to prison after breaching the terms of his parole, Britain’s Probation Service has announced, as quoted by BBC. The singer, whose real name is Paul Gadd, was released in February after serving half of a 16-year prison sentence for sexually abusing three schoolgirls.
After being released from prison, he was subject to conditions, including being monitored by wearing a GPS bracelet.
The 79-year-old pop star was jailed in 2015 for pedophilia.
A Probation Service spokesman said protecting the public was the “number one priority”. “That’s why we set strict license conditions and when offenders break them we don’t hesitate to send them back to custody.”
