Toronto FC have reportedly given several interviews to Chris Armas to fill the head coach position left vacant since the departure of Greg Vanney last month.
At least that’s what the official Major League Soccer (MLS) website reported on Friday. Armas maintained a 29-21-11 record with the New York Red Bulls in the regular season, notably helping the team win the Supporters’ Shield in 2018.
Armas and the New York team ended their association by mutual agreement last September. He has since also reportedly met DC United for the same role.
Vanney had resigned on 1is last December after leading the club to their first MLS Cup in 2017 as well as three Canadian Championship titles in just over six years at the helm.
