Jerez de la Frontera

A former student of the San José de La Salle school in Jerez accuses a former director of the center of abusing him and four other classmates between 1995 and 1996.

As published by the newspaper Villagethe former student accuses Juan Antonio Álvarez Gordillo of having been responsible for these abuses during the 1990s, when the former religious was also responsible for the Catholic Scout Movement of Jerez.

With these five complaints, there are already 11 alleged victims of this individual, students of the former religious in the schools of Melilla and San Fernando.

Álvarez Godilló, a native of Antequera, no longer belongs to the Lasallian order, but continues to practice as a teacher.

A group has even been created in social networks called “Victims of sexual abuse of Juan Antonio de La Salle-MSC”. Through this chat, the victims are getting in touch to report alleged attacks at the hands of the former director of the center.

It should be remembered that the Public Prosecutor of Cadiz is holding an investigation against the professor. The San Fernando National Police Family and Women’s Assistance Unit has already collected a statement from one of the alleged victims. Santiago Codesino was the former student who introduced his case to the Repara project, a project that the archdiocese of Madrid created to recognize, prevent and treat reports of sexual abuse.
