A forensic test complicates the son of the pensioner found with a knife stuck in his neck

the corpse of María Cristina De Vincentiis, the 90-year-old retiree murdered with a knife to the neck at her home in San Isidrowas moved from place at the crime scene, and the suspicion of the prosecution is that the person who did it was his son, Aldo Antonio Di Paolo, arrested for the casewhen on the day of the discovery he allegedly set up the scene of an alleged robbery before calling the police.

The data arose from the analysis of the forensic experts who worked at the scene and in the morgue of the so-called “cadaveric livideces”which are the purple spots that appear on a corpse because the blood stops circulating and accumulates, due to the force of gravity, in certain areas, according to the position in which the body is found.

The arrest of the suspect

In this case, according to judicial sources told Télam, De Vincentiis appeared lying “dorsal decubitus” (face up) on the kitchen floor of their home and that is how they said they found both their son and a neighbor from the block who also entered the house. However, the lividities that the corpse presented do not coincide with those that should have appeared in that position -the spots should be in the dorsal region-, but rather they were as if the body had been in a sitting position.

For the lividities to remain fixed in a body and not be able to change location, 24 hours must pass, so the prosecution’s hypothesis is that when the Italian retiree was murdered, according to the death data and the analysis of the videos on Monday past, his body was left in a sitting position.

The objective data is that someone moved the body and our suspicion is that the person who did it was the defendant Aldo Di Paolo on Wednesday night, when he created some disorder and set up the scene of an alleged robbery at his mother’s house. We have filmed him going into the house, leaving after a few minutes, then going back inside before he calls the police.”, a judicial source told Télam.

Prosecutor Carolina Asprella, in the description of the fact that she accused Di Paolo when investigating him last Friday, refers to the maneuver of changing the position of the body.

He staged a scene in the place, compatible with an act of abduction, for which he generated a context of disorder, moved the victim’s body from the position it was in at the time of his death, and indicated the possible abduction of elements of pecuniary value, such as jewelry, cell phone, and cash; circumstances created to ensure their impunity”, wrote the prosecutor in the minutes of the investigation, to which Télam agreed.

Meanwhile, the judge of Guarantees No. 1 of San Isidro, Ricardo Costa, endorsed everything that has been done so far and at the request of the prosecutor in the case, Carolina Asprella, turned the apprehension of the accused Di Paolo, 65, into a formal arrest for “homicide doubly aggravated by the bond and by treachery”a crime that provides for life imprisonment.

For his part, Di Paolo changed lawyers again today after on Friday, after his investigation, he appointed criminal lawyer Hugo López Carribero as private defender.

This noon, the defendant notified the prosecutor’s office that he was once again represented by the official defender of San Isidro who assisted him in his investigationJorge Del Rio.

Before learning of this news, López Carribero had affirmed this morning to the C5N channel that he did not rule out the participation of a woman in the event and had announced that he was going to present a letter in the case in which he will request measures to investigate other “three hypotheses ” of the homicide, something that with the change of defense, did not materialize.

Di Paolo was the one who last Wednesday the 8th night called the police to say that he had found his mother dead at her home at Avellaneda 1314 in Las Lomas de San Isidro, in the north of the Buenos Aires suburbs, and denounced the missing series of jewelry and the victim’s cell phone.

The retiree, of Italian nationality, was lying in the kitchen dining room of the house, with a kitchen knife with a wooden handle from the house itself, stuck in her neck.

Although the initial hypothesis was that of a homicide during a robbery in the context of an entrance, the prosecutor did not stop investigating the son.

The key to ordering the arrest of Di Paolo were a series of contradictions and the videos from the security cameras of a factory located opposite, from which it was seen that the only person who had entered the victim’s house between the Monday afternoon – a date compatible with the date of death – and on the Wednesday of the discovery, it had been his son, who lives around the corner, on the same block as his mother, about 150 meters from the crime scene.

In the key video from Monday, it can be seen that Di Paolo entered at 5:30 p.m. and left at 6:00 p.m., in leather and with a bag where the prosecutor believes he took money and a tablet from his mother.

In the raid carried out at the home of the now accused of matricide, at 886 Herrera Street, the police seized 3,000 dollars, 900,000 pesostwo tablets, a notebook, two cell phones and a cushion with apparent blood stains.

In his investigative statement, the defendant denied having committed his mother’s crime, and changed the day on which he said he had gone to the victim’s house for the last time, since in his witness statement he had said that he did so on Sunday , but as a defendant – and knowing that there were videos – he stated that he had gone last Monday.

In addition, he acknowledged that he was recorded by “the cameras leaving the home” of his mother with bags because, according to him, “he brought merchandise to that house.”
