A total of 7 foreigners were arrested yesterday (6-7-2023) in the early hours of the morning in the area of Thesprotia by police officers of the Crime Prevention and Suppression Team (OPKE) of the Igoumenitsa Security Sub-Directorate.
This is a foreigner, against whom a criminal case was filed for the transportation of irregular immigrants, as well as 6 irregular immigrants, who are accused of violations of the legislation on foreigners.
In particular, as determined by the police investigation, the defendant transported the irregular immigrants in a private car to the Greek-Albanian border, from where they would then attempt to illegally exit the country with their final destination in Italy.
The vehicle used for the transport was seized, while those arrested were taken to Mr. Plimmeliodikis Prosecutor of Thesprotia.
