Police nad Metují football players have known the name of the opponent they will face in the 3rd round of the MOL Cup at the end of October since Friday morning. The lottery held at the headquarters of the Football Association of the Czech Republic in Strahov, Prague, awarded coach Libor Vach’s players Mlada Boleslav, a participant in the Conference League.

For the first time, the Czech representatives were in the European Cups, and the duo Ivo Ulich & Jan Koller just drew one of them to this year’s rookie of the fourth football league.

It’s no secret that the players and officials of Spartak wanted one of the “S” from Prague, but the arrival of Mladá Boleslav footballers, led by representative Kušej, will be a great celebration for the club and the surrounding area.

Preliminary round: away Trutnov 3:0
1st round: at home Chlumec 2:0
2nd round: Karlovy Vary at home 2:0

After all, voices from the police club are also talking about it. “Mladá Boleslav is a European cup participant, so it is certainly an interesting draw for all of us. For me personally, this will be the third meeting with Boleslav in the national cup, so I guess this opponent is doomed,” smiled Spartak Police nad Metují coach Libor Vacho shortly after the draw.

The players themselves also expressed their opinion, and Roman Čáp was relieved that the team is not expecting another East Bohemian derby. “I’m personally really happy that we don’t have Hradec. I’ve played against him quite a few times. I didn’t have my dream Mlada Boleslav either, but I’m quite satisfied with the result, after all, it’s a cup representative. It will be a little football holiday in Polici. We will of course do everything to make the match as balanced as possible. So we’ll see how it turns out in the end,” midfielder Roman Čáp welcomed the fourth opponent in Spartak’s cup journey.

Gunner Jakub Matějka took the floor as the third, who was not so satisfied. “I wished for Bohemka, but Sparta and Slavia would definitely attract thousands of people to Police. Mladá Boleslav is a participant in European cups, so I believe that many spectators will come to this club as well. I’m looking forward to how we’ll enjoy the football holiday together and maybe we’ll even torment the favourites,” said Matějka determinedly.

Another representative of the Hradec Králové Region will follow his opponent to his field. Hradecky Votroky will be welcomed by Loko Praha. The official matchday for Round 3 is Wednesday, October 30.
