A Florida baby dies after her parents left her in a car for hours

An 11-month-old baby died on Sunday May 28 in Florida after being left inside a vehicle for several hours while her parents were at church.

According to the medium ABC News, the incident occurred in the city of Palm Bay, in Brevard County, around 1:00 p.m.

The city police received an emergency call reporting a baby who was unconscious and unresponsive. Upon arrival at the scene, the officers found the parents of her minor trying to wake her up, noting that they had left her in the vehicle for approximately three hours while they attended the church service.

The authorities transferred the baby to a nearby hospital, however, she lost her life shortly after.

For its part, the medium USA Today revealed more details, noting that the girl, whose birthday would be this week, was rushed to Palm Bay Community Hospital about two miles from the church.

There, emergency room doctors worked to stabilize her, but she was later pronounced dead. Authorities were working to determine which parent brought the girl to the congregation, and whether any other distractions were involved.

The aforementioned media outlet indicates that no arrests have been made related to the unfortunate event, but the investigation is still ongoing.

Palm Bay Police Chief Mario Augello mourned the death of the minor, sending condolences to the family.

“This is an unfortunate incident, and our condolences and prayers are with the family,” he told a news conference.

The temperature in the city of Palm Bay reached 30 degrees Celsius around noon. However, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) has pointed out that the temperature inside a car with the windows open can reach 46 degrees, something that can be extremely dangerous for a baby. .

Until now, it is unknown if the parents forgot the minor inside the vehicle or intentionally left it thinking that nothing bad would happen.

An autopsy is expected to take place later in the week to determine the exact cause of death.
