A popular floating nightclub in Belgrade sank last night during a New Year celebration, Serbian media reported.
According to information on the Telegraph website, a young woman was injured, with her leg injured. The guests were promptly evacuated and there were no casualties.
The “Freestyler” nightclub began to sink shortly after midnight as attendees celebrated the start of the new year. The floating platform lifted and rapidly began to fill with water, more than half submerged. Footage of people running in the water has been shared on social media.
“At first we didn’t understand what was happening. The building tilted and then water started pouring in. It was terrifying, the girls around me started screaming in terror. We started running out one after the other. the other,” said a girl who was present on the scene during the events.
Police and ambulances arrived soon after the complaint.
