In recent weeks, the referendum on the cut of parliamentarians has totally captured the attention of the media. While there is still discussion about a reform that will perhaps save us a few cents a year, October 15th is approaching. In fact, in the middle of next month, the suspension period for the collection of tax bills introduced with the August Decree will expire. Taxpayers must pay any suspended payments by 30 November. Even if the economy is still limping and the reforms of the Executive have not gone beyond the disbursement of some bonuses.
If the government does not take urgent measures, the situation could degenerate. In fact, a fiscal apocalypse knocks on the doors of the Italians, the possible scenario of the coming months is more bleak than ever. While the country’s productive fabric is still trying to recover from the long lockdown, the government toasts the electoral result. On the economy, however, everything is silent.
Scrapping quater, a new fiscal peace?
Assuming that Italian small and medium-sized enterprises regularize payments by 30 November is utopian. Especially since the deadlines for scrapping will start again on 10 December ter. Warm autumn is about to begin. At the moment, businesses survive thanks to the oxygen of tax suspensions. Employees have now run out of bonuses and hours of layoffs. The stop to layoffs cannot last forever also because the state coffers languish. Despite you proclaim of the MEF, the Revenue Agency has scheduled acts for over 20 million euros in the coming weeks. The director of the AdE also hypothesized new and stricter actions to recover payments from Italian companies.
In short, the scrapping quater could represent a glimmer of hope for those who do business in Italy. The next few months will be decisive for the country and, after the referendum drunkenness, the Italians are waiting for facts. The boost to the economy and the revival of GDP are in fact the only way to straighten public finances and reduce unemployment. In addition to allowing taxpayers to continue to honor their accounts with the hidden partner: the Italian tax authorities.
