A week to promote gender equality
Justine Bajard, from the association Dijon law and Ninon Métin, in charge of discrimination at the Febia, were inspired by the action carried out in 2020 by an association in Avignon. They designed a program to educate students about women’s rights. Conference, film-debate, promotion of associative involvement: from March 8 to 14, every day, a meeting in which you can participate via social networks.

This first week of feminism, they first imagined it face-to-face, with exchanges, contacts and real debates. But students are always far from campuses, they had to change their method and “imagine something else”.
It’s a program for all students, so it’s up to us to go find them where they are present, with the current discussion tools, to create a community.
Supported by four other student associations, they uploaded several videos, including one specially shot for the occasion. The program here.
Passion for commitment
The first week of feminism is one of the actions carried out by these committed students. At the Droit Dijon association, Justine Bajard is in charge of social innovation, a term under which she encompasses environmental concerns, disability, the fight against precariousness …
She had the “click” a year ago, during the previous Women’s Rights Day and now combines her bachelor’s studies with four mandates! It also wants to raise awareness of Europe, or the development of research.
Even if the proposed activities bring together only a few dozen students, she hopes to arouse vocations and believes in teamwork carried out with her colleagues from other associations.
From this concrete commitment – she is also a volunteer at the solidarity grocery store – it makes a professionalization tool: developing skills, a network, trust.
The task is vast, but according to her, “you have to aim for the moon to hit the stars”.
