A first 20 degrees Celsius this weekend?

After several weeks spent below seasonal norms, the Montreal region could potentially experience a first day with mercury above 20°C since the beginning of spring.

As of Saturday morning, a maximum temperature of 19°C is forecast for this period.

“It’s not certain, but it’s possible that it will change,” admitted Maja Rapaic, meteorologist for Environment Canada, in an interview with the QMI Agency.

But it is Tuesday that seems the most likely to expect 20°C, despite the possibility of precipitation, according to Environment Canada (EC) forecasts.

According to data from the federal agency, since 2014, the earliest 20°C reached the metropolis on April 10 (25.7°C in 2017). This temperature target was therefore well expected for the sector.

However, the other days will not be outdone, the mercury should not move too much between 15°C and 17°C. “We are really far from record temperatures, but it will be a good week with seasonal temperatures,” added Ms. Rapaic.

Meanwhile, Eastern Quebec, plagued by significant snowfall (mostly melting), should experience its share of good weather on Monday.
