Members of the Donnacona fire department used a ladder truck to take photos as part of the engagement of a friend of the director of the same fire department.
TVA Nouvelles had access to videos captured by citizens on Saturday afternoon. You can see the municipal vehicle 302, which is in fact the local pump-ladder truck.

The event lasted at least three hours and required the presence of this truck for a good part of the afternoon.
However, this equipment acquired at a cost of $ 345,000 may be called upon to intervene in six municipalities in the county of Portneuf: Neuville, Pont-Rouge, Saint-Basile, Cap-Santé, Portneuf and Deschambault.

“I did not know”
The mayor of the municipality claims to have been informed only on Saturday evening by citizens.
“It is not a common practice with us. We cannot borrow public equipment without authorization, there we went with a fire truck (…). The board of directors did not authorize anything and neither did I, ”explains Jean-Claude Léveillée.
Luckily, this 95-foot ladder truck was not needed to cover a major fire during this photoshoot, but using public equipment for a wedding doesn’t suit everyone in the municipality.
“I will have a meeting with the director of the fire department this week to see more clearly in this file,” added Mr. Léveillée.
Asked about a possible sanction, the mayor did not want to confirm this information.
Remember that the fire safety brigade has 32 volunteer firefighters and protects a population of 7,300 inhabitants.
