A violent fire broke out during the night from Friday to Saturday in Allonzier-la-Caille (Haute-Savoie). The fire broke out on the site of the Héritier Bois Environnement company and destroyed a 1,200 m2 building, reports
The Dauphiné Libéré. Sixty firefighters were mobilized to come to terms with the disaster which also affected wood stored outside.
The flames were quickly contained with the use of eight water hoses. The damage is only material and the fire did not spread to the petrol pumps of a supermarket located near the firewood company.
No impact on activity
An investigation was opened to determine the origin of the fire. According to the boss of the company, Christophe Héritier, the fire broke out in a part of the building where no activity had been observed for more than a month.
“I salute the work of the firefighters, who were able to circumscribe the outbreak and ensure that it does not spread,” said the manager to our colleagues. According to him, the wood supply to customers will not be affected. “We lost about a month and a half of storage, but we have more than a year of stock in advance elsewhere, so we will be able to bounce back,” says Christophe Héritier.
