At least twenty people were injured in a fire at a NYCHA building in Brooklyn, including many in critical condition.
Images from the Citizen app captured the scene of the crash.
Authorities say the fire broke out around 11pm yesterday in a 14-story building near Gold and York Streets.
Flames appear to have developed in the compactor shaft on the third floor.
Twelve people were seriously injured, seven others, including a firefighter, continue to suffer minor injuries.
Approximately 60 firefighters were needed to put out the blaze shortly after midnight.
NYCHA authorities have not released any statements on the incident, while the investigation into the cause of the fire continues.
