A fire broke out at Prague’s main railway station, hundreds evacuated

The fire started around 6 pm in the background of the Billa store. Firefighters from several units, including the chemical service, came to the scene.

“Before the arrival of the troops, about 500 people were evacuated from the building,” firefighters informed on Twitter.

Due to the fire, train traffic and the metro were restricted. “Due to the fire at the Prague main railway station, the operation of trains is interrupted, expect a delay. Metro C passes the Hlavní nádraží station, ”informed the transport company.

All entrances to the station building were closed until the intervention, at half past six the guards removed the tapes and began letting passengers in again. The store remained closed.
