The legend of the satirical theater Slavcho Peev gave his boss Kalin Sirmenov carte blanche to appoint him understudies in the productions in which he participated. The incredible actor and director hasn’t been able to move for a month and hasn’t been able to perform on stage.
“For almost a year now, I have been undergoing various procedures due to weakness in my legs that arose after falling ill with the coronavirus. At the end of spring, I last performed in front of an audience at the Satirical Theater. We recently met with the director of the crew and we agreed that I was to be replaced by doubles in the two shows I have roles in – ‘Variety Show’ is one, the other is English, about the secession of England – ‘Yes, Mr. Prime Minister. “I hope and pray that I recover and practice my favorite profession again,” says the veteran. And he adds that his son takes him daily to the warm-up in the “Ovcha Kupel” district and is very grateful to him, informs “Bulgaria today”.
“It’s very complicated for the elderly in terms of Bulgarian health care. I still provide for myself, I don’t even want to complain about my pension, but there are people who cannot take care of themselves. Otherwise politicians keep making promises, and we always vote for each other. Here I voted again now. I still have a favorite and I hope things are better. Although I am 83 years old, but I handled the car easily. It was more difficult for me to go to it, but I still got there with the help of the cane”, laughs Peev and then adds seriously:
“Today I thought about what a beautiful country we are. We are a beautiful country. Nature is what God gave us, gave us, gave us, and we can’t be the kind of people who don’t appreciate that, right.
