The police join the party
This news item obviously reminds Fight Club, the David Fincher film released in 1999 starring Edward Norton and Brad Pitt. On the night of Saturday 14 to Sunday 15 November, the New York police disembarked at a warehouse in the Bronx in order to stop dead a fight club which brought together more than 200 people. The event had been named Rumble In The Bronx, probably a reference to the movie of the same name with Jackie Chan.
The premises were quickly evacuated and ten people suspected of being the instigators of this remake of the famous film were accused of illegal fighting, illegal possession of firearms and the absence of a liquor store license. Michael Roman, the mastermind of the event, has been taken into custody. According to a statement from the NYPD, the 200 participants were ” discovered drinking, smoking weed and fighting without social distancing », An aggravating circumstance in a period of health crisis linked to the coronavirus.
